GULBARGA: The Additional Commissioner’s (AC) office of Public Instructions served notices on certain Gulbarga schools, St Joseph’s English Medium Pre-Primary School, St Joseph’s English and Kannada Medium Primary School, St Joseph’s English Medium High School — all run by Triennial Carmil Education Society, Mysore; Lilli Rose Primary School and Farana High School — both institutions run by Farana Education Society, Mehta Primary and High School — run by Rajanwel Trust, Gulshan Arafat Primary and High School, run by Gulshan Arafat Education Society. It was proved that St Joseph’s English Medium Pre-Primary School, St Joseph’s English and Kannada medium Primary School and  St Joseph English Medium High School collected excess fees of about Rs 1.20 crore while Lilli Rose Primary School  and Farana High School have collected excess fees of about Rs 1  crore in the last few years. All these institutions have remitted the excess fees to a charitable trust illegally, says a report submitted by Additional Commissioner’s office.  Shockingly, St Joseph’s English Medium High School in its compliance report to the AC on January 3 accepted that it excess fees of Rs 21,77,240 from students between 2008-11 to 2010-2011 but has, at the behest of school management, utilised it for tasks such as sanitation of the school.
