HAVERI: Kannada and Culture Minister Govind Karjol has assured to form a committee of senior writers to study on allegations of modifications in ‘Savillada Haadu’, a compilation of Kannada lyrics by Haridasas, edited by Balehosur Mutt, stated Kaginele Kanaka Guru Peetha seer Niranjananandapuri Jagadguru.
It may be recalled that the the seer has been alleging that some modification were made in the songs published in the book hurting sentiments of devotees.
In a release issued here on Monday, the seer stated that he met Kannada and Culture Minister Govind Karjol in Bangalore on Monday and urged him to form the committee and withdraw the book from stands in various book stalls.
The Minister also promised to ensure that the book will be re-published with proper critical editing avoiding the glaring mistakes, he added.
