BANGALORE:  Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah demanded that the state government ban the Sri Ram Sena, for its allegedly role in hoisting the Pakistan flag at Sindhagi town recently. He said that the outfit had sowed the seed of communal discard in various places, including Mangalore and Mysore, and was found guilty by the police in the flag-hoisting incident.

“The state home minister had recently blamed outfit for the ugly incident, which had flared up communal tensions,” he said.

“The Sena, which was once part of the Sangh Pariwar, should be banned immediately,” he added, while urging the government to initiate the ban on the organisation.Siddaramaiah also demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident to unravel the truth behind the incident. It may be recalled that the Pakistan flag was hoisted in Sindhagi town in Bijapur district recently.
