GULBARGA: The Union government is keen to accord special status to Hyderabad-Karnataka region by amending Article 371 of the Constitution for better economic growth and development, said Union minister for Labour and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge.

   Delivering the Convocation address of Central University of Karnataka here on Saturday, he said such a move shall boost growth.

   The H-K region is a unique socio-economic region where there is complete confluence of all religions. It has suffered in terms of economic and educational development. These factors have hampered development as compared to other parts of the state.
