KOLAR: Kolar district BJP Yuva Morcha president Om Sakthi Chalapathy has been arrested on various charges including deterring a public servant from discharge of duty.

The arrest has been followed after the incident of alleged stone pelting on the police and obstruction during the widening of the M B Road on Saturday by the district administration.

According to sources, the Kolar Gulpet police have arrested Chalapathy and Rahamathulla and were later remanded to judicial custody.

While speaking to Express, BJP district president Lakshmiah said the district Yuva Morcha president Om Sakthi Chalapathy was not involved in any alleged incidence as reported, and has been arrested without any cause he claimed.

He also said he has intimated the same to the chief minister as well as the home minister
