BANGALORE: :Excise Minister M P Renukacharya, a staunch follower of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, expressed confidence at the BJP high command taking a favourable decision on reinstating the latter in party.

Addressing newsmen here on Friday, he strongly felt that his mentor Yeddyurappa was forced to demit office thanks to a conspiracy hatched by the former Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde.

Opining that the Lokayukta report had lightly let off former chief ministers S M Krishna, N Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy, he refused to divulge who else were behind the “conspiracy”.

He also took exception to Justice Santhosh Hegde passing comments on judgement of the High Court which quashed the charges framed by the Lokayukta against Yeddyurappa.

On the CM and state party chief K S Eshwarappa’s observation that Yeddyurappa was yet to come clean fully, he said: “These cases have no credence as they were filed with mala fide intent.”
