SHIMOGA: Saying that English is an unscientific language and cannot not be a communicative language, Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankar Murthy said that Hindi should be taught as communicative or linking language of the country.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the first ever All Karnataka Hindi Sahitya Sammelan organised by the ‘Shikshaka Mitra’ educational monthly magazine, Raja Bhasha Sangharsha Samiti of the district branch and district association of Karnataka State High School Hindi Language Assistant Teachers to mark the birth centenary of Jnanpith awardee and Hindi poet Sachchidananda Hiranand Vatsayana, at the Ambedkar Bhavan here on Sunday.
