CHIKMAGALUR: Taking a dig at the Opposition leaders misusing former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s name by spreading rumours that the latter has called upon Lingayats in the constituency to vote for Congress, Housing Minister V Somanna reiterated that Yeddyurappa was the unquestionable leader of the party.
He also stated that, besides dissidence all issues would be sorted out only after March 18.
Speaking to reporters at the party office, Panchajanya here on Monday, he said that this byelection was not a circular for any system but the BJP government had done its best to translate schemes on paper into reality.
Reacting to a question on persisting disunity in the party, he said differences are bound to be there in the intelligentsia of the party and that the BJP is like a mother. He declared at the same time that he would not desert the party even if it were to be bowled out.
‘Bypoll a Boon for Simmering Voters’
People’s expectations of change in administration after D V Sadananda Gowda became chief minister have proved false and voters are simmering against the BJP, for which this byelection has come as a boon, said Union Corporate minister Veerappa Moily.
He said here on Monday that ever since Gowda took over charge as CM , the Lokayukta institution has been in a shambles following government’s reluctance to appoint a new Lokayukta and take action on the report submited by the Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde.
BJP Govt a Rudderless Ship: Poojary
Former Union Minister and Congress leader Janardhan Poojary likened the BJP government to a rudderless ship. He told reporters here on Monday that administration had deteriorated as cabinet ministers were indifferent to the CM’s directions.
Poojary cited the dissidence within the BJP to buttress his argument.
