SHIMOGA: State BJP president Eshwarappa has taken the issue of “resort” development by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa as “very lightly”.

Talking to reporters in the city on Sunday, he said this was not the first time BS Yeddyurappa gave a deadline. “You media know about the result of every deadline given by BSY earlier too. For me,BSY taking  MLAs and other leaders to resort means they are thinking about organising a party,” said Eshwarappa.

Eshwarappa also asserted that BSY would not  betray the party.

Replying to remarks made by BJP MLAs and ministers on the leadership issue, Eshwarappa said they were free to express their opinions. “The BJP is a national party and central leaders will have their “say” in any political development,” he said.

“We made a big mistake by giving tickets to people on the lines of caste and money. We will not repeat the same in the next election and will face  the elections based on the ideology of leader Deendayal Upadhyaya,” he added.About Balachandra Jarakiholi’s statement about leaving the party, Eshwarappa said one should leave the party if he desired.

“The BJP will not succumb to any blackmailing act,” he added.Regarding Congress leader Siddaramaiah’s statement to impose president’s rule across the state, Eshwarappa said, “Siddaramaiah is dreaming of becoming the chief minister  of the state. But he could never achieve it.”
