BANGALORE: Sitting Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrashekhar who is contesting as an independent candidate in the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka has declared moveble assets valued at Rs 15.17 crore, including bank deposits worth Rs 3.74 crore.
In an affidavit filed before the Returning Officer, Chandrashekhar has stated that total movable assets of his family is worth Rs 26.83 crore.
Congress RS nominee K Rahman Khan in his affidavit has stated that he and his wife own moveable properties worth Rs 53.12 lakh and Rs 77.10 lakh respectively.
He has declared of possessing 1.5 acres of agricultural land worth Rs 18 lakh in Mandya and 5.5 guntas at Harohalli village Yelahanka. Khan also owns 8.5 acres of non-agricultural land at K R Pet in Mandya district.
Khan owns two residential buildings at Jayanagar and H S R Layout. The total market value of all immovable properties owned by him and his wife are `5.40 crore and Rs 5.63 crore respectively.
BJP nominee Basavaraj Patil Sedam had declared assets under his and his wife’s possession worth Rs 9.83 lakh and Rs 5.81 lakh respectively. He also owns 6 acres of agricultural land at Sedam village in Gulbarga district valued at `30 lakh and non-cultivable land worth Rs 1.75 crore at Lottegolahalli in Bangalore. His wife owns a residential building at Sedam worth Rs 12 lakh.
Another BJP nominee, R Ramakrishna — a retired IAS officer — has stated in his affidavit that he owns moveable properties worth Rs 1.35 crore, immovable property worth Rs 5.51 lakh and lands worth Rs 25 lakh. He also has cash of Rs 18,000.
The rebel BJP candidate B J Puttaswamy has moveable properties worth `76 lakhs while his wife owns assets of `15.25 lakh. He also owns 17,200 sq ft of non agricultural land valued at `1.89 crore. He and his wife jointly own residential property worth `4.40 crore.
