BANGALORE: As advocates came to know about the appeal filed by state challenging CAT’s order quashing the appointment of DG & IGP Shankar M Bidari, some of them started circulating SMSes stating, “We advocates shall not appear for Bidari in any proceedings before the courts. He has tried to bring disgrace to our profession by misusing his power and now been disgracefully removed,” and “Bidari (Gaddafi) removed from DG’s post. Advocates’ cry has reached the God and the court”. There were also rumours about the HC issuing an emergent notice to Bidari. Bidari’s removal from the post was one of the main demands of the advocates, who alleged that he “misused” his powers and “showed disrespect” to his post during the violence on City Civil Court premises. When contacted, Bidari said, “The advocates are welcome to do whatever they want. What will they do if I hire advocates from other states?”
