BANGALORE: The second year PU mathematics examination, which was to be held on Tuesday, was cancelled after the question paper was leaked in some parts of the state. Now, the exam will be held on April 3.

Late on Monday night, after the Director of PU Education confirmed the question paper leak in Chintamani taluk of Chikaballapur district, the exam was cancelled. Photocopies of the question paper were reportedly sold by some miscreants in Malur, Mulbagal and surrounding areas.

“We are not aware of how the question paper was leaked. We have lodged a complaint with the Chikaballapur police and they have filed an FIR. An investigation is in progress,” Rashmi V Mahesh, director of PU Education, told Express.

However, T D Pawar, Chikballapur Superintendent of Police said it was the PU Board’s responsibility to find out how it happened.

Rubbishing Pawar’s claims, Rashmi said, “It is for the Police Department to inquire and it was incorrect on the part of the Education Department to throw the ball in our court.”
