MYSORE: With pressure mounting for the restart of flights from the Mysore Mandakalli Airport, the state government held two rounds of talks with Jet Airways. One flight was operating from the Mysore Airport. Kingfisher Airlines introduced a flight between Mysore and Bangalore. However, the airline withdrew the services due to tax burdens and financial crisis.

District Minister S A Ramadas said Jet Airways is likely to operate two flights between Mysore- Bangalore as the CM has agreed to provide all the facilities and the government will sign an MoU with Jet Airways.

The state government earmarked land for the expansion of Mysore Airport and will take a decision on the compensation to facilitate further expansion of the airport allowing for the landing of big aircraft.
