Rahman pins hope on Krishna

Union Minister for Minority Affairs K Rahman Khan said that the state Congress will face polls unitedly if the high command gave the responsibility to former Union minister S M Krishna.

He termed Krishna, who hails from Mandya, a leader of international stature with more than 50 years of experience in politics. Khan told reporters on Sunday that it is up to the high command to decide on the role and utilisation of Krishna. The UPA government will face the polls based on the welfare programmes it executed in the last 10 years, he added.

Tipu Sultan University

Khan said that the government is keen to establish Tipu Sultan University in Srirangapatna by allocating 50 per cent seats to minorities and the rest to others. He also assured of Centre’s support to revive the Mysugar factory in Mandya.
