Up to BSY to take a call: KSE

“We did our best to retain former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in the party, now it is up to him to take a call,” Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa told reporters in the city on Thursday.

Eshwarappa said that when the party leaders tried to retain him, Yeddyurappa accused them of misleading the people.

Ministers Basavaraj Bommai, Umesh Katti, C M Udasi, Murugesh Nirani and V Somanna had approached the Central leaders and urged them to try and retain the former CM.

Was this a misleading act, he questioned.

He clarified that he would not react to any remarks made by Yeddyurappa.

“Strategy plays a key role in politics and a shrewd politician should know when and where to speak,” he added.

The state BJP president is not authorised to take disciplinary action against elected members in the party, so the Central high command would decide, he said.

“Anybody involved in anti-party activities should remember how Dhananjay Kumar was expelled,” he warned.

Reacting to the statement of former minister Haratalu Halappa, he said: “If he feels commitment to an individual is more important than the party, let him resign. All Sitting MLAs Will Get Tickets If anyone takes part in the KJP convention in Haveri, they cannot continue in the BJP as the party would take action,” he said.

“All the sitting MLAs of the party would be given party tickets to contest the elections,” he added.
