Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa cautioned BJP state president K S Eshwarappa against initiating any action on the legislators and ministers participating in the launch of Karnataka Janta Party (KJP) at Haveri on December 9.
He told the reporters here on Sunday that the current government is a coalition between BJP and KJP and the government’s survival is now in the hands of Eshwarappa.
“If Eshwarappa balances between the government and the KJP till next elections then we will not make any efforts to topple the government.
Otherwise, the election is the only option and we are prepared to face it,” he warned.
Stating that five to six lakh people are expected at the Haveri convention, he observed that many leaders from different parties were on their toes to join the new party following its certainty to capture power in the ensuing Assembly elections.
A five-member committee is constituted to draft the KJP manifesto depicting the new political outfit’s plan of action to change the face of the state.
Care will be taken while selecting candidates so as to give due representation to minorities, backward classes, women, and youth, he pointed out.
Asserting that alliance will not be made with any other political party for the upcoming elections, Yeddyurappa, however, clarified that if the Dalit sangarsh samiti and KRRS were ready to agree with KJP’s ideologies.
Regional adjustments will be made in such cases, he said.
He called upon the workers and followers to take part in the Haveri convention in large numbers at their own expenses.
