Announcement on BSY Return on Friday?

State BJP leaders continued their lobbying in Delhi on Tuesday for re-induction of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa into the party.

Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar, former deputy chief minister R Ashoka along with party state president Prahlad Joshi who were in Delhi to participate in an all India office-bearers’ meeting of the BJP, tried to convince the party national leaders about the need to take a speedy decision on Yeddyurappa’s return.

According to party sources, state BJP leaders wanted the party national leadership to take a decision in this regard before the BJP state executive meeting to be held on December 27.

“If all goes well, we hope to make a formal announcement about Yeddyurappa’s return at the Executive meeting,” a senior BJP leader told Express.

However, Yeddyurappa is likely to join the party only after Sankranti, which is considered an auspicious time.

According to sources, Yeddyurappa has softened on his conditions for rejoining the party. He would be the automatic choice to be the Leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly if KJP merges with BJP and his confidante Shobha Karandlaje is likely to contest Lok Sabha elections as the BJP candidate from Bangalore North constituency.
