Cauvery row: State government awaits today's SC hearing

The state government has decided to wait for the outcome of the hearing on the Cauvery issue in the Supreme Court on Thursday before deciding on its next course of action.

The meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and attended by Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai, floor leaders of both the Houses Siddaramaiah, HD Revanna, SR Patil and MC Nanaiah discussed in length the SC direction to release two tmc water to Tamil Nadu and issuing notification on the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

Meanwhile, Mandya Zilla Raitha Hitarakshana Samithi members led by former MP G Madegowda met the CM and urged him to hand over the KRS dam to them before the Centre issues notification on the final award of the Tribunal.
