CM writes to Panel on appointment of second Upa Lokayukta

While the process of appointing the Lokayukta is on the state government is showing keenness to name a second Upa Lokayukta. According to official sources, Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has written  a letter to all the members of the selection panel, including Opposition leaders in the state Assembly and Council, Siddaramaiah and S R Patil respectively, on the need to appoint another Upa Lokyukta in the state.

At present, Upa Lokayukta Justice Majjage  is also officiating as the Lokayukta.The CM in his letter has also requested the members to treat the matter as urgent and send their opinions to the proposal immediately.  Siddaramaiah in his reply to CM’s earlier letter had reportedly suggested name of former State Human Rights Commission chairman Justice S R Nayak to the Lokaykata post.
