Man beheads mother, neighbour in Bijapur

A man reportedly chopped off the heads and hands of his mother and a neighbour in Chikkabevanur village in Indi taluk on Tuesday morning, allegedly because they advised him not to sacrifice sheep at his wife’s grave.

SP Ajay Hillori in a release issued here said that Nagappa Sayabanna Bagali chopped off the heads and hands of his mother Dundawwa (65) and his neighbour Hasansab Mulla (50) with an axe.

Nagappa had lost his wife about 90 days ago. He wanted to sacrifice two sheep at her grave, but they advised him not to, police said.

Bagali’s brother Pundalik informed the police about the murder. They found the chopped heads and hands in the house and arrested Bagali. A case has been registered in Indi police station.

Eight-year-old girl raped

Chikballapur: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour two days ago.

According to sources Somashekar, alias Shekarappa (19) of Nadupanayakanahalli of Siddlaghatta taluk here, reportedly took the girl to the village lake and reportedly raped the Class II student.

The incident came to light when the girl’s sister was giving her a bath on Tuesday and noticed the injuries.

A case has been registered. The accused is said to be absconding.
