6 RTI activists detained for raising slogans in Assembly

Six activists of the Right to Information Act (RTI) were taken into custody on Thursday by the security staff of the State Legislative Assembly for raising slogans demanding more powers to the Karnataka Lokayukta.

The Assembly proceeding were disrupted on Thursday morning for a few minutes when the activists suddenly started raising slogans and threw paper from the podium of the public gallery into the well of the House.

They also demanded the government to act on the report on the illegal mining submitted by former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde.
