Disabled swimmer in Limca Book

Disabled swimmer Prakash Kharvi of Kodi Kanyana, near Sasthan, Udupi, entered the Limca Book of National Records, for swimming 13 km in the Arabian Sea, with both hands tied behind his back.

His achievement is commendable as his right leg is polio affected. On February 2, 2012, he swam from St Mary’s Island to Malpe beach.  “I practised swimming with hands tied for three months before the demonstration. Actually, I was forced to swim six km more than the actual distance to avoid the rough waves,” said Prakash.
