Sagar MLA Belur Gopalakrishna announced on Wednesday that he would quit the BJP in a day or two.

Belur is upset with the BJP leadership as he was denied a berth in the Jagadish Shettar Cabinet despite his desperate efforts. “Realising that justice cannot be done to the backward classes while in the BJP, I decided to quit.”

Belur is likely to join the Congress. But he is facing stiff resistance from senior leader Kagodu Timmappa.
