“The probe into illegal mining might have exposed many leaders but not my son or me,” former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said.
At a programme organised by the Veerashaiva community, he said he was the first person to demand the probe into the issue and also urged the Centre to stop export of iron ore. “Several leaders have been going to jail but my name or my sons’ name were not in the list,” he said.Yeddyurappa also criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly safeguarding leaders like Santhosh Lad in the illegal mining case.
The party will not merge with the BJP, Yeddyurappa said, adding the KJP will go for an alliance and the incumbent MPs from the party will become party candidates in the Lok Sabha polls.
