More cyber centres for Sakala planned

Training and financial support is being provided to those who come forward to set up cyber centres

Taking note of speedy disposal of applications submitted online under the Sakala scheme, the state government has decided to set up more cyber centres.

After releasing August's report on the implementation of Sakala scheme, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra told reporters that 69 services are presently going online and the disposal rate is around 100 per cent.

"As many as 15,500 applications were received through online service and all the petitions were disposed of," the minister said.

The National Rural Livelihood Mission is providing training and financial support to those who come forward to set up cyber centres, he said.

Saying that presently 375 state services have been brought under the Sakala scheme, the minister said that in the coming days remaining 240 services would be brought under its ambit.

Outlining the performance of the Sakala scheme, the minister said that ever since the launch of the scheme 3.35 crore applications had been received and about 3.26 crore applications had been disposed of.

"The total receipts during August are about 22.19 lakh and 24.28 lakh applications had been disposed of, including that of arrears pertaining to previous months," he said.

While Uttara Kannada district continues to remain on top, Kolar district stood at the second place followed by Chamarajnagar, he said that Kolar has shown tremendous commitment to move from the last month's 20th position to second rank in this month.

Among the taluk rankings, Gudibande in Chikballapur district has been most consistent followed by Kumta and Ankola from Uttara Kannada district.

The minister had also presented a certificate of appreciation to the Tahsildar of Gudibande taluk for the best performance in delivering the services.

He also said that the call centres, established to deal with the complaints if any on the implementation of the Sakala scheme, have seen a significant fall in complaints. "From 316 complaints that we received in June, the number has come down to 98 this month and it reflects improvement in the delivery of services," the minister added.
