BANGALORE: Hundreds of Congress workers from Haveri staged a protest in front of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office here on Friday demanding disciplinary action against Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H K Patil, Congress MLA K B Koliwad and senior leader D R Patil.
The protestors blamed them for the defeat of Congress candidate Salim Ahmed from Haveri Lok Sabha constituency in the recently concluded elections.
The protesters raised slogans against H K Patil, Koliwad and D R Patil alleging that the trio conspired to ensure Ahmed’s defeat from Haveri.
“H K Patil worked against Ahmed after his efforts to get party ticket from Haveri for his cousin D R Patil failed,” the protestors alleged.
They also said that Koliwad too did not work hard for Ahmed’s victory.
The protesters demanded that the Congress high command sack H K Patil from the ministry and expel Koliwad and D R Patil from the party.
