KALABURAGI: Two Congress leaders of Malla village in Jewargi taluk were allegedly burnt to death by miscreants near Diggavi of Chittapur taluk on early Saturday early morning, said District Crime Branch DSP S S Huluur.

Hullur, who is investigating the case, said the deceased are former GP president Mallareddy (60) and GP member Siddanagowda (40).

The duo had come to Kalaburagi on November 27 and went missing since then. Their charred bodies were found near Diggavi village on Saturday morning.

Hullur said the victims were kidnapped on November 27 but were killed on Saturday. Sourcs said Mallareddy used to settle disputes when hewas the GP president and some dissatisfied elements might have killed them to settle a score.

Kalaburagi SP Shashikumar told reporters the duo could also have been illed elsewhere and the bodies could have been dumped near Diggavi of Chittapur.
