TUMAKURU : Two persons including a woman died on the spot and 20 others were injured when an APSRTC bus hit a truck on Pavagada-Ballari state highway at Nagalamadike on Thursday.
The deceased and the injured were travelling in an APSRTC bus from Kalyanadurga in Andhra Pradesh to Pavagada when the driver lost control over the vehicle and hit a truck bound for Ballari at around 11.15 am.
The deceased including a twenty-year-old youth and a 45-year-old woman are yet to be identified. The bodies were kept at the morgue at the government hospital in Pavagada town. Four of the injured including the woman conductor of the bus were shifted to NIMHANS in Bengaluru. Rest were being treated at the hospital in Pavagada.
The driver of the bus Narasimhulu allegedly dozed off and hit the truck, police said.
