BELAGAVI : Irked over a minor issue, a father shot five bullets, killing his son on the spot and injuring his wife and daughter at Nayanagar near Bailhongal on Tuesday.
The father, who is now absconding, has been identified as Vitthal Indi and the deceased son is Iranna Indi (21), who worked for the defence sector.
Wife of the accused Anusaya (40) and daughter Preeti (19), who are undergoing treatment at the district hospital, are said to be responding positively to treatment.
According to sources, Iranna, who was on leave, came home on Monday. The father-son duo had an argument over money, which later turned violent. Irked by this, Vitthal fired five bullets from his licensed revolver at his son. Anusaya and Preeti, who tried to calm the duo, were also injured in the firing. Speaking to Express, Superintendent of Police Ravikanthe Gowda said police have already received clues for Vitthal’s location and are in action to nab him.
The police have formed a special squad to arrest Vitthal.
