Revised textbooks for Karnataka's state board: CM Siddaramaiah's office

The CM’s office, through a statement issued on Wednesday, confirmed that the state board’s textbooks, and not the NCERT ones, would be used for the academic year 2017-18.

BENGALURU: The CM’s office, through a statement issued on Wednesday, confirmed that the state board’s textbooks, and not the NCERT ones, would be used for the academic year 2017-18. It said that all language textbooks will be ready for print by year end and other textbooks by mid-January next year.

The announcement has removed the uncertainty over the textbooks and marks a victory for the revision panel, headed by Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait had earlier announced that owing to a delay in the revised textbooks being given to him, the revised books would be implemented for the 2018-19 year and NCERT books would be used instead for the upcoming year.
