Security beefed up, over 850 police personnel to man Nanjangud counting centre; counting to be webcast live

MYSURU: The results of Nanjangud and Gundlupet bypolls, which have caught the attention of the state because of high-pitch campaigning, will be out by 12 noon today.
The counting of votes for Nanjangud which will begin at 8 am at JSS College in Nanjangud will be over by 12 noon, said Deputy Commissioner D Randeep. The votes will be counted in 16-17 rounds on 14 counting tables in a room.

There will be a videographer at every table who will shoot the entire process. Webcasting of counting process will also be done. Round-wise counting details will be displayed on the screen in the counting hall itself. The entire counting room will be sanitised by Police Anti-sabotage Check (ASC) Team prior to taking up any counting process.

After the counting process is completed, polled VVPAT printed slips will be taken out and stored in a sealed envelope/box with EVMs.
No victory processions
Prohibitory orders will be clamped around the counting centre and victory procession and bursting of crackers will not be allowed. Sale of liquor will be banned on the counting day.
