Eshwarappa skips BJP meet called by Karnataka party president Yeddyurappa

Senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa skipped the party leaders meeting convened by Yeddyurappa on Sunday to discuss reasons for losing the recently held bypolls in Nanjangud and Gundlupet.

BENGALURU:  Senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa skipped the party leaders meeting convened by state party president B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday to discuss reasons for losing the two seats at the recently held bypolls in Nanjangud and Gundlupet.

Speaking to press after the meeting, party general secretary Aravind Limbavali said all the party leaders attended the meeting except Eshwarappa and Jagadish Shettar. However, they had taken permission from the party, he added.

Eshwarappa was in Kollur and Udupi on Sunday. He had earlier questioned the delay in making changes in the party unit as suggested by the party national president.
Limbavali said during the meeting the leaders discussed about reasons for party candidates defeat in the elections.

“Distributing money, misuse of power and understanding with the JD (S) helped Congress win the elections,” he said. The BJP is confident of achieving its goal of winning 150 seats in 2018 elections.
