KSRTC to operate extra buses to combat weekend rush

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will run 450 to 500 extra buses in addition to the existing schedules between April 28 and May 1.

BENGALURU: In view of Basava Jayanthi/ Labour day and to meet the long weekend rush, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will run 450 to 500 extra buses in addition to the existing schedules between April 28 and May 1.  

Special buses will be exclusively operated from Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharawad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppala, Yadgir,Bidar, Tirupathi, Pavagada, Hosadurga and other places.

Special buses from Mysuru Road Bus Station will be  operated towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri routes.

All premier special buses will be operated from Shanthinagar BMTC bus stand to Madurai, Kumbakonam, Trichy, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupathi, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and other places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Facility has been provided to book computerised reservation tickets in advance for the special buses.
Passengers can book tickets online by logging on to www.ksrtc.in.

Advance reservation of tickets for the special and scheduled buses of KSRTC can be booked through 148 counters in Bengaluru, 18 counters in Mysuru and 34 counters in Mangaluru and other 230 computerised reservation counters of KSRTC located at other places in Karnataka.

A discount of five per cent on the fare will be extended, if four or more passengers book in a single ticket. Also, a discount of 10 per cent is offered on the return journey ticket if onward and downward journey tickets are booked simultaneously.

Advance Reservation of tickets for the services offered by KSRTC can be booked through the booking counters established by KSRTC at important cities of neighbouring states i.e. Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry,Maharashtra and Goa.

In addition to the above, special buses will be operated from all Taluka/District bus stands in the jurisdiction of KSRTC based on the traffic needs, the release added.
