Apply for BDA flat, get allotment the same day

The Bangalore Development Authority will launch across-the-table sale of its 2,705 flats at its head office at Guttahalli from 12.30 pm on Friday.

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Development Authority will launch across-the-table sale of its 2,705 flats at its head office at Guttahalli from 12.30 pm on Friday. If the initial deposit is paid and the required document is there, one can walk out with a flat allotted in one’s name the same day.

“For the first time, we will be launching an Across-the-Table scheme for allotment of flats beginning Friday. We have already received many enquiries,” said P N Nayak, Engineer Member, BDA.

N G Gowdaiah, Superintending Engineer, said the flats are spread across Valagerahalli, Alur, Malagala, Kanminike, Komaghatta and Doddabahanalli. “Of the 2,705 flats, 176 flats are 1BHK and 139 are 3BHK. The remainder are 2BHK,” he said.

The flats are priced as follows and the price varies depending on the area chosen: 1BHK: Rs 11 lakh; 2BHK: Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and 3BHK: Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh.The application form costs Rs 200 and the registration form Rs 400. The money for both need to be remitted in the Canara Bank within the BDA office.

Gowdaiah said, “A Demand Draft for the initial deposit(12.5 pc of the total flat cost) needs to be taken in the name of ‘BDA Commissioner, Bangalore’ from any bank. The DD needs to be submitted to the Canara Bank within the BDA premises and the challan needs to be presented along with the completed form. Eligible individuals will be given the flat allotment letter the same day.  

“The full amount needs to be paid within six months following which the flat will be registered in the payee’s name,” he added.Apart from passport photos, the main certificate required is a Domicile certificate to prove the applicant has resided in the state for at least 5 years, he said.
