Congress not scared of Amit Shah: KPCC chief  G Parameshwara

BENGALURU: KPCC president G Parameshwara attacked BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday saying that his talk would probably work in Gujarat or Uttar Pradesh, but not in Karnataka.

Speaking after the hoisting of the National Flag at the KPCC office, Parameshwara said Shah would have to define what corruption meant since many BJP state leaders also faced charges.

“He has called our government the most corrupt government, but in that case he would have to define what it meant. It was in this state that money was made due to illegal mining. The BJP chief minister received money through cheques. Several of their leaders are still facing probe on charges of corruption. So what exactly does he mean?” he asked.

Parameshwara added that BJP was forever interested in promoting communalism, while Congress wanted to speak about development.“He is not Chanakya in Karnataka. Everyone knows how he wriggled out of his case with the CBI,” he said.Saying that I-T raids were being used as a ruse to target Congress leaders, Parameshwara said that Shah’s visit had not scared Congress.

“On the contrary, it is Shah who is scared of Congress. That is why he has come here and taken all the BJP leaders to task,” he mocked. The BJP has proved in the previous elections that they can misuse EVMs. But those tactics will not work in Karnataka, Parameshwara added.
