Four labourers killed in brutal accident in Karnataka

According to police, rash and negligent driving by the truck driver led to the accident.

CHITRADURGA: Four labourers were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between an autorickshaw and a truck at Harthikote village, along the Bidar-Srirangapatna National Highway 150A on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Muthuraj (22), Sharanraj (22) of Sooragondanahalli village of Hiriyur taluk, Chidanand (20) from Madakaripura and Manu (20) from K N Kottige village. They were daily wage workers travelling in the auto rickshaw.

According to police, rash and negligent driving by the truck driver led to the accident. The truck was on its way to Hiriyur when the accident took place.

Senior police officials including SP Joshi, Srinath Mahadev and others visited the spot. The Aymangala police have registered a complaint and are investigating.
