BENGALURU: The first session of the state legislature this year is set to start with Governor’s customary address to joint session of both the houses on Monday.
The 5-day session is expected to witness stormy debate on severe drought in the state, government’s alleged failure in taking up drought relief works, acute drinking water problem and the law and order situation, especially in the wake of crimes against women in Bengaluru and other parts of the state.

As promised by Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister TB Jayachandra, the proposed Bill to allow Kambala is likely to be tabled in this session.
Issues of drug peddling and prostitution involving youth from African countries may also take centre stage
as many MLAs in the city have asked for deportation of those overstaying
in India.
