JD(S) dissidence flares up as Devanahalli MLA Pilla Muniswamappa quits party

The MLA blamed the style of functioning of the JD(S) leadership, especially president H D Kumaraswamy, and said he had grown disgruntled by the recent inclusion of local leaders into the party.

BENGALURU: Dissidence within the JD(S) has erupted again with the Devanahalli MLA Pilla Muniswamappa submitting his resignation to the speaker K B Koliwad. However, the Speaker is yet to take a decision on it.

Explaining his decision to quit, Pilla Muniswamappa blamed the style of functioning of the JD(S) leadership, especially president H D Kumaraswamy. The MLA said he had grown disgruntled by the recent inclusion of some local leaders into the party.

The resignation is a blow to the JD (S), as the regional party had earlier suspended eight MLAs for alleged anti-party activities.
