BENGALURU: With the crime rate increasing in the state, it is necessary for police to prevent crimes by acting on the information provided by police intelligence, opined Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Addressing the media after a review meeting here on Monday, Siddaramaiah, said, “Crimes are marketed of late. Hence, it is necessary for police to take precautionary measures.”
“With communication and technology growing rapidly, the crimes are also increasing. Police must take precautionary measures to prevent the crimes,” he said.

The Chief Minister added: “Police could have averted two murders that took place in Maddur, had the intelligence team collected information and acted upon it.”
CM appreciated the Banaswadi police, who had cracked down the Kammanahalli molestation case and arrested the six accused in four days.

Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah inaugurated Annex-2 building in Carlton house, where the Criminal Investigation Department is located. He will attend the annual review meeting of police on Tuesday.
Home Minister Parameshwara, Bengaluru Development Minister K J George, Advisor to Home minister Kempaiah, Director General and Inspector General of Police, Karnataka, Om Prakash and others were present.
