BELAGAVI: Reacting on the resignation of former external affairs minister SM Krishna from Congress Party, former minister and Chikodi MP Prakash Hukkeri said he too would quit the Party if his ‘Guru' (Krishna) does not withdraw the resignation.

Speaking to the reporters at Chikodi on Sunday, Hukkeri said that he has been a strong follower of Krishna and will remain the same till the end. "When he was a CM, he was very much focused on the developmental works of the State and guided the whole Congress family of Karnataka for the same. After knowing about his resignation, I tried to contact him, but could not communicate. However, I will meet him tomorrow (Monday) at 9 AM and try to convince him to withdraw the resignation,” he said.

Hukkeri said if he fails in convincing Krishna, being his strong follower, he too will resign. He said, "Krishna's service is needed for State as well as nation. Even if he sticks with his decision, we will follow him."
