MYSURU: A senior geologist, who had imposed a fine on Mandya MP C S Puttaraju’s company and 11 other stone crusher units for carrying out quarrying and mining in forest areas, has been transferred. The government has transferred K M Nagabushan who had lodged a complaint against 48 people in connection with illegal mining in Pandavapura.
The transfer has raised a few eyebrows among political circles.Senior forest officials had accused Puttaraju of stopping them from performing their duty during their inspection of illegal quarries. They had sought police protection following threats from those involved in the quarrying.It may be recalled that Puttaraju had alleged that Nagabushan had demanded bribe.
