BENGALURU: At a time when the first family of JD(S) is repeatedly being questioned on whether the two politically inclined women members of the family (Anita Kumaraswamy and Bhavani Revanna) are likely to get tickets, the party has announced it will make every effort possible to push the Women’s Reservation Bill at the state and the centre. The Bill makes it mandatory to have 33 per cent reservation for women at the legislature at state and centre.

Speaking at a women’s convention organised by JD(S) on Thursday, party supremo Deve Gowda said the bill would come into effect before the Assembly polls and it was state president H D Kumaraswamy’s job to identify candidates.Kumaraswamy encouraged women to contest in elections and said contenders need not be from a political or moneyed backgrounds.
