SSLC students can’t take exams in their schools

Board took decision to prevent malpractices

BENGALURU: Over eight lakh students preparing for their first Board exams starting from March 30 will have to write the exam in another school this year.

To avoid any malpractice during the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has decided to follow the randomisation of candidates method which was adopted by the Department of Pre University Education in the ongoing II PUC exams.

Board Officials confirmed this and said, “Randomisation of students will help avoid malpractice like mass copying. The students of the school identified as an exam centre will be shifted to another exam centre.”

Joining hands with the Board, the Transport Department has given directions to all its drivers and conductors at BMTC and KSRTC to stop buses at exam centres to help students.

As the current bus pass that the students have only allows them to travel in the bus until their school, the department has also allowed SSLC students to travel by bus free of cost by showing their hall ticket.
