Poll result will be verdict against communalism: Minister Mahadevappa

With BJP state president trying to consolidate Veerashaiva votes in Nanjangud, the Congress has managed to bring in Veerashaiva leaders of Horalawadi into its fold.

MYSURU: With BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa and former minister V Somanna trying to consolidate Veerashaiva votes in Nanjangud, the Congress has managed to bring in Veerashaiva leaders of Horalawadi into its fold. MP R Druvnarayan welcomed leaders of Veerashaiva community in Horalawadi and Badanavalu on Sunday.

Veerashaiva leader Satish said the government has taken up development works by releasing crores of rupees for Nanjangud constituency.

Meanwhile, District Minister H C Mahadevappa campaigned in Ariyur, Madake Hundi with an appeal to reject Srinivasa Prasad for neglecting development in Nanjangud. He said Prasad has neglected party workers in the past eight years. He said the people are in favour of the Congress for its commitment to secularism, development and pro-poor governance.

Mahadevappa said the bypoll result will be a verdict against communalism.
