Karnataka students soar with their scores in ICSE, ISC exams

Karnataka students have aced the ICSE and ISC examinations with a pass percentage of 99.8, and 99.04 respectively.

BENGALURU: Nicole Marielle Joseph studied for not less than nine to ten hours a day before her board exams. Her hard work paid off. With a percentage of 98.5, she is the state topper for Class 12 (ISC).
Guidance from teachers at Mallya Aditi International School and motivation from family are what she attributes her success to.

“I would study regularly. I gave priority to revisions,” she said while speaking about preparations. She  scored 100 in mathematics.Raised by a single mother, Joseph said that a strong bonding with her paternal and maternal relatives helped her cope with her loss.

“I lost my dad when I was three. My uncles were supportive and they ensured I never felt the loss too much,” she added.

For Joseph, studying biology and chemistry needed a different approach while she practised math and physics by solving a lot of problems. This topper now dreams to bag a seat in Cambridge School. “I have applied for a computer science seat,” she said.

Krishna Kishore Lal, another student from Mallya Aditi International School, has scored 98.25 per cent.
Having studied English, sociology, psychology, political science and economics, Lal hopes to pursue a career in psychology.

“I would study for six hours, set time tables for myself and take a lot of mock tests. This is what helped me score high,” she added.

Srisreyas S had an ironic mantra for success - to not aim for any particular marks, rather study to the best of his ability. A Science student of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, he stood joint third in the state with a score of 98 per cent. Srisreyas is currently awaiting the results of both JEE and BITSAT exams, and hopes to pursue engineering in computer science branch.
