BELAGAVI: Political heat is expected to singe the winter session of state legislature starting at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on Monday as the opposition parties are eager to attack the Siddaramaiah government with a slew of issues. The ruling party is also ready with an ammunition to hit back.
BJP, the principal opposition party, has announced that it will not allow the government to run the session until Bengaluru Development Minister K J George, who has been listed as the main accused in DySP Ganapathy suicide case, resigns from his post. Meanwhile, JD(S) has said it would take on the government on farmers and other public related issues.

BJP is also set to attack Congress by raising the issue of solar scam in Kerala in which AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal is one of the accused. The party is demandingVenugopal'ss recall by Congress and planning to stage protests against Venugopal in the state.
BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa is set to add more action during the session as he is preparing to “expose more scams of Siddaramaiah government”.

The exposure will put Siddaramaiah government to shame and it would be impossible for the Chief Minister to face the opposition in the house, Yeddyurappa said. Government, which has to ensure smooth conduct of the proceedings, is expected to take on the alleged corruption that is said to have occurred when BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje was the power minister.

The House Committee headed by Energy Minister D K Shivakumar is expected to table the report of the committee in the session and is expected to hand over the case to CID which also could rock the proceedings in both the houses.

JD(S) floor leader Kumaraswamy who is also one of the members of the House Committee is expected to add new dimension to the issue by submitting his dissent note on the report.
As the signature of all members of the committee is needed to table the report in the legislature houses, minister Shivakumar himself had gone to Kumaraswamy’s house and got his signature for the report of the House Committee.

Apart from this, Congress is likely to raise the alleged scam of allotting Bagair Hukum lands when R Ashok was the head of the Bagair Hukum Committee to turn the tables against BJP  in both the houses.
BJP is also expected to take on government on recent Income Tax raids on Congress ministers Shivakumar and Ramesh Jarkiholi.
