UDUPI:Building a nation where there will be no untouchability, protection of cattle resources, a nationwide legislation banning cow slaughter, building of Ram Mandir at Ram Janmabhoomi and freeing Hindu temples from the clutches of governments will be the core issues at the three-day 12th ‘Dharma Samsad’ organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Udupi from November 24, said its international working president Praveen Togadia.

Speaking to reporters in Udupi on Thursday, Togadia said saints at the Dharma Samsad will give guidance to the VHP on how to go about the issues that concern the Hindu society. To a query on building a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Togadia said it is a congregation of saints who will present their action plans upon which the VHP will take a call.

Togadia said building of Ram temple in Ayodhya where the Babri Masjid was razed will be discussed by the saints at the Samsad and “what they suggest will be carried out by the VHP”, he said. “We will tell our stand and the government will tell its stand’’ he said.  ‘’This is not a Samsad that would give directions to political leaders or parties. It takes forward Indian culture and ethos’’ he said.

“Dharma Samsad has nothing to do with party politics. We are concerned about Hindu society”, he added. To a query about Lingayat organisations seeking a separate religion status in Karnataka, Togadia said people who live like brothers can not be separated.Earlier Praveen Togadia participated in the inauguration of the ‘Hindu Vaibhava’, an exhibition, organised at Royal Garden Ground.
