Karnataka: Woman found alive at funeral, dies later

HAVERI: A pregnant woman from Devargudda village was declared brought dead by Ranebennur Government Maternity Hospital doctor on Wednesday. But, she was later found alive when family members were busy making preparations for her funeral.

Nagaveni Yamanappa Kodera (25) of Devaragudda village, who got labour pain, was admitted to a primary health centre at Devaragudda, where she gave birth to a boy on Tuesday midnight. She was shifted to Ranebennur Maternity Hospital on Wednesday when she developed severe bleeding. She soon collapsed due to low BP. Dr Prathibha Nayak declared her dead.  

When the family members were preparing for her funeral, they noticed the woman opening and closing her eyes and shaking her fingers. They rushed her to a private hospital in Ranebennur, where the doctor declared her brought dead.
