BENGALURU: The “overwhelming response” to its Parivarthan Yatras held in 50 Assembly constituencies of six districts in the first phase has encouraged the BJP to organise three such rallies at prominent places in the city to attract urban voters.  The party will also rope in its star campaigners to address these rallies.

The party will invite Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley to address the rallies on December 10, 17 and January 7 in the city comprising 28 Assembly constituencies, announced BJP General Secretary C T Ravi after a party core committee meeting on Saturday. These yatras will conclude before a mammoth rally in the city on January 28, which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.  Ravi also announced that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address a mega rally in Hubballi on December 21.

The saffron party has come up with a new programme — Navashakti. As part of this, conventions will be organisin the constituencies where the Parivarthan Yatras had concluded, he said. Ravi condemned Prof Chandrashekar Patil for criticising the saffron party at the ongoing Kannada Sahithya Sammelana in Mysuru. It is unfortunate that the Kannada convention was used for a political purpose, he added.
