Relief for PWD minister’s son in bribery case

The High Court on Thursday stayed the summons issued to Sunil Bose, son of PWD minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, by the Special Court in connection with a bribery case in Mysuru.

BENGALURU: The High Court on Thursday stayed the summons issued to Sunil Bose, son of PWD minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, by the Special Court in connection with a bribery case in Mysuru. Hearing the petition filed by Bose, Justice Rathnakala stayed the proceedings and summons issued to him.

The Special Court in Mysuru had issued summons to Bose recently, after he was treated as second accused in the bribery case. Bose was accused of provoking senior geologist Alphonsus to collect `800 per truck for transportation of sand. The Special Court also issued summons to Raju, the third accused. This was also stayed by Justice Rathnakala after hearing his petition.Bose and his assistant Raju were arraigned in the graft case, wherein senior geologist Alphonsus was caught red-handed while accepting money in 2010.
